According to Doug, maintenance crews are working on the Hyundai CNC. They are waiting for an air solenoid.

Reply from Richard:

"As I inform Doug, The solenoids for the solenoids have been purchase, but the items are only available outside the continental US. Per customer Ellison Technologies, they are a two to three weeks delivery. I have contacted them to expedite and they are trying."

According to Doug, the manufacturer does not have the solenoid in stock.

Doug summarized the repair history he knows by email. The solenoid is coming from Germany.

Checked with Octavio regarding the solenoid. When the solenoid on the Puma CNC was broken, in order to keep the production,the one on the Hyundai CNC was move to the Puma CNC (cannibalized). Now, Octavio received the solenoid for the Puma CNC and will be able to put the solenoid back on the Hyundai CNC. After the current threading job is done, Octavio will install the solelnoids.

However, the two solenoids are not identical on physical shape.

Solenoid was delivered to TI.

Solenoid was installed. But no electrical power goes to the solenoid.

Frank, Brian, and Chris checked the solenoid. Electrical power comes to the solenoid. But the two air exhaust mufflers attached to the soleloid are missing. Asked the procurement team to search and buy.

Brian found that we received wrong solenoid. The correct one is DC 24V. The one we received is AC 220V. Requisition was made on 10/26/2017.

According Al, he has ordered the correct solenoid. The vendor will credit back for the incoreect solenoid. Still waiting for reply about the silencer.

Installed the new solenoid. Get a lot of alarms that are not related to the solenoid. Need trouble shooting by dealer.

George called Steven Lee of Hyundai in Chicago at (630) 625-5521. Lee said he would check with local dealer - Hillary Machnery in Houston.

Russell Buys from Amttech troubleshooted the machine and confirm that teh Fanuc drive is bad. Quote for replacement.

At the request from KEARNEY MACHINERY & SUPPLY, David of Fanuc came to our plant to look at the spindle drive problem. Here is his Service Report. Replaced the bad spindle drive with a new one.

On 12/12/2018

Vince and a technician from Kearney Machinery came to do troubleshooting. Installed new batteries purchased by Kearney. Added hydualic oil to the tank at rear left conner on the CNC. Cleared the alarms. But the chuck did not turn.

Vince took the old bad spindle drive out of our plant.
